First Annual Strategy Workshop

If you are a professional staff member at LANL, or if you are a faculty member at NMSU, NM Tech, or UNM, then this is your singular opportunity to help define the New Mexico Consortium’s (NMC’s) Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) at LANL in this, its first year of operation. Thanks to the investment of LANL’s Principal Associate Director of Science, Technology, and Engineering, we have substantial funds available to support federal and state proposal preparation on new research and educational opportunities in collaboration with LANL. This provides an outstanding opportunity for both your personal career advancement, and for the advancement of our research and educational missions within the IAS State-wide. We are currently awarding grants for proposal preparation, workshops and conferences, distance education programs, and for summer schools. We are working to establish joint faculty positions with LANL, and to obtain support for faculty members at LANL during their sabbatical year. The first annual meeting of the IAS will be held at New Mexico Tech on Friday evening, April 20, and all day Saturday, April 21, 2007. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know your colleagues State-wide.
