For Students
Summer schools, internships and other opportunities for students.
- OpenModel Graduate Student Internship
- Starts January 31 or later. The OpenModel projects is an a open-source repository of data for modeling global energy systems. The project, led by Dr. Rajan Gupta, collects, collates and organizes information on existing energy infrastructure and resources. The integrated data set can be analyzed with software tools like Google, Google Earth and Wikipedia or by privately developed tools. The goal is to use Open Models to understand the current energy systems on a global level. This internship is intended for a student who can integrate this project into their research program.
- Computer System, Cluster, and Networking Summer School
- This summer school aims to expose participants to many of the necessary skills and methods needed in order to maintain a high-performance super computer cluster. Participants get first hand practical experience with building and testing a cluster plus interaction with many professionals in the field.
- q-bio Summer School
- The School is intended for researchers new to modeling of cellular regulatory systems. Topics to be covered will include modeling of signal-transduction systems, genetic regulatory circuits, and stochastic effects in biochemical systems. The School tuition is $700, which includes registration in the q-bio Conference. Scholarships are available. These events are open to the public, though registration is required. Registration will open at the end of January. See the q-bio web site for details.
